Snakes appear in many of my artworks and the symbolism of the animal is very unique. Snakes have many different meanings to many different cultures. In all cases, it is my belief that "snakes teach lessons." Whether it's practical lessons like being careful in tall grass or the classic rhyme, "red and yellow, kill a fellow, red and black OK jack" or symbolic lessons interwoven into mythology and storytelling, snakes are here to stay. Respect them, and if you see them sunning themselves on a rock, admire them, but keep your distance.
